Michigan 53rd District Court

The 53rd District Court is located at 204 S. Highlander Way, Howell, MI 48843 and serves all of Livingston County, including Brighton and Howell. The Honorable Miriam Cavanaugh (Chief Judge), the Honorable Shauna Murphy, and the Honorable Daniel B. Bain currently preside over this court.

53rd District Court Cases

This district court has jurisdiction over misdemeanors, civil cases of $25,000 or less, landlord tenant disputes and other small claims. They also have jurisdiction over felony cases to determine probable cause and civil infractions like parking and traffic violations.
