Michigan 41A District Court


The 41A District Court serves Utica and the City Sterling Heights and the Townships of Macomb and Shelby in Macomb County. The Honorable Douglas P. Shepherd (Chief Judge), the Honorable Annemarie M. Lepore, the Honorable Stephen S. Sierawski, and the Honorable Kimberley Anne Wiegand currently preside over this court. Below are the two locations for the court:

41A District Court Cases

This district court has jurisdiction over misdemeanor criminal cases, civil cases of $25,000 or less, landlord tenant disputes (such as land contracts) and other small claims cases. They also have jurisdiction over felony cases to determine probable cause and administer preliminary examinations and civil infractions like parking and traffic matters, such as traffic tickets.
