Moms 4 Starfish Classroom Build-Out

The Law Offices of Barton Morris is thrilled to support the creation of this classroom, which will serve to help a countless number of children that desperately need it. This is why we love Starfish and will continue to support their programs.

Barton W. Morris Jr, founder of the Law Offices of Barton Morris in Royal Oak, has always believed in giving back to the community. With a passion for helping children and their families, Morris and his wife Bridjet in 2018 visited Starfish Family Services in Inkster and were immediately overwhelmed. Barton and Bridjet immediately formulated a vision of how they could make a difference in the lives of the children and their families already being assisted by Starfish. Starfish is in immediate need of a new classroom for infants to toddlers. However, this new space comes at a high cost. $20,000 is needed and this is where Barton, Bridget and her ‘Moms4Starfish’ group are stepping up to the plate. They are appealing to the generosity of our community in order to make the Starfish ‘dream a reality’.

Bridjet along with the other ‘Moms4Starfish’, Kristie King, Stefani Scott and Erica Kives want to help to give these children a bright future. They are starting with a blank canvas and are on a mission to raise these funds for this much needed classroom buildout. The classroom is empty and is in need of everything from coats, boots, diapers, cribs, wipes, crayons, toys, desks, educational tools plus so much more. Starfish Family Services was founded in 1963 and has been a champion for children and families across Metro Detroit who do not have access to necessary resources that many of us take for granted such as education, healthcare, and economic opportunities. They help over 4000 children and families yearly, providing high quality programs and much needed support services that focus on a child’s early childhood education and development, behavioral issues, health and wellness.
