Michigan’s 44th District Court serves the cities of Royal Oak and Berkley and is located at 400 E Eleven Mile Rd, Royal Oak, MI 48067. At this district court, the chief judge is the Honorable Derek W. Meinecke and the district judge is the Honorable James L. Wittenberg.

44th District Court Cases

This district court has jurisdiction over misdemeanors, civil cases of $25,000 or less, landlord-tenant disputes and other small claims. They also have jurisdiction over felony cases to determine probable cause and civil infractions such as parking and traffic violations.
