All I can say is this is by far the best Law Firm I have ever used. I should have used Mr. Morris for my second offense OWI instead of the lawyer I used. Mr. Morris represented me on a probation violation. He right away assured me that it would be dismissed. We went to court and the Judge was not having any of it. He wouldn't let Mr. Morris speak nor myself and was stuck on sending me to jail. When he was able to get the judge to listen, he stood up for me and told the Judge we would reschedule and bring someone to testify. He stated the Judge was in a bad mood and that setting a second court date would give him time to cool off. When we appeared for the second court date, the Judge stated there was a prosecutor there and that my attorney speak with them. Long story short, after the prosecutor heard testimony from my witness, we went before the Judge and they dismissed everything and discharged me from probation. I was very relieved. Mr. Morris is very professional, knowledgeable and isn't afraid to stand up for you when it gets tough. I would recommend him to anyone in a similar situation. -Lionel

The Barton Morris law firm exceeded my expectations in every way. I was arrested for an OWI in Sterling Heights last February. Through their advice and guidance I attended several courses, evaluations and AA meetings to position myself in a proactive way to the court. They were able to negotiate with the prosecutor to drop the OWI and accept a much lesser charge, (failure to yield to an emergency vehicle). This charge will not interfere with my ability to travel to Canada which I do frequently to compete in sporting events. Both Barton and Charlotte Steffen participated in my representation. The staff, Sarah Tarockoff and Christina Iski were extremely efficient in scheduling and handling the administration process of this case. They never missed a beat. Barton Morris and attorney Charlotte Steffan have forever changed my life for the better. On December 12, 2016, the firm assisted me in fighting to re-gain my driver's license - after 8 years of it being suspended - and we were successful on our first attempt. Charlotte was very easy to communicate with and offered multiple ways she could be contacted. She actively listened to my case and was honest with me about my options and potential outcomes. I lost my driver's license as a result of receiving two DUIs and had the most difficult time re-gaining it back. By the time of the case, I had been clean for over 6 years, working for the federal government for over 6 years, and had recently received a Master's Degree with a 4.0 GPA. This still was not enough evidence for the State of Michigan as they still would not grant me a driver's license. But when I hired Barton Morris ... my circumstances changed. If you're looking for an attorney in his particular specialty, Barton is best at what he does. Check out his website for what he specializes in first, of course. My opinion of attorneys in general is not the highest. They are a cocky and arrogant bunch who are quick to take your retainer only to not return your phone calls after. However, talking to Barton and his team will instill confidence and let you take care of your business while they are working on getting you out of your troubles with the minimum harm to you. In my somewhat lengthy process and many questions there has not been once when he didn't return a phone call or email. He even answered his cell phone while on vacation spending time with family. At that point already, I knew he will be on my side and he didn't disappoint. Got me the deal I was hardly hoping for at a reasonable price. I wish for anyone not having to deal with criminal attorneys at all, but if have to - Barton Morris is the man!

Barton Morris and his team took the misery and doubt out of the arduous process of reinstatement of my driving privileges. I highly recommend him. I started the process and represented myself. Michigan law, as far as driving reinstatement goes, is littered with nuance setting up the defendant to fail. Mr. Morris offered to help after I had been violated for missing a rolling re-test. I had long been eligible to apply for permanent reinstatement (two and a half years), but had demurred because I had been so intimidated by the process, especially the social/psyche evaluations. So, I retained Mr. Morris to represent me for the violation and permanent application. He succeeded in both cases. Mr. Morris and his team are the epitome of due diligence. Nobody likes a criminal defense attorney until he needs one, and then when he does he hopes to goodness his attorney goes beyond merely advocating for his client. Mr. Morris's firm did just that.

My experience with Mr. Morris was the most painless and smooth of all the hurdles and hoops that a DUI and license re-reinstatement bring. Smooth because he understood exactly what was needed to make my case a success and painless(as possible anyway!) because he shows confidence in what he is doing witch really put me at ease.
